For cowboys, riding through the bushes and brambles, rivers and creeks were never that easy. It might look real nice and stylish on TV when they show you the old movies with the cowboys riding in real boots and all, the true story is more painful than it may first seem. The war, carriage or free-styled boots were never good enough to ride in the US territories after the Civil War had seen its days, and finally one lone cowboy decided to usher in the era of Cowboy rain boots.
In 1870, this cowboy took his shoe to his shoemaker and asked him to give it a pointier tip, so that slipping the feet into the horse stirrups would be as smooth as cutting through soft butter without much hassle. He wanted a taller shaft to protect his leg, and an under-slung heals to keep his heel well balanced on the stirrups while riding.
Over the years, the cowboy rain boots has become a fashion fad. No more were the black and brown stitching made the primary style- the shoemakers opted for colorful sticking that could appeal to a wider audience. They also started sewing in different patterns and designs onto the outer sole of the shoes as well. Overall, the cowboy rain boots have come a long way to finally become important footwear for people.
- These cowboy rain boots were as high as the knee to protect the wearers from the thorny mosquito trees, snakes, brambles and wires. They also came with the long mule-eared straps which were used to pull them on easily.
- When you hear the name rain boots, do not always crinkle your nose in disgust- gone are the days when the rain boots were old, big heavy and ugly. Nowadays, the celebrities and the fashionada of the glitterazzi cannot be made complete without these cowboy rain boots.
- These new cowboy rain boots have different patterns on them. They have fun animal patterns like striped zebras, or polka dotted leopards that look absolutely fantastic on any woman!
- They are trendy, stylish and colorful. Women generally love to go for brand names since they are more durable than the ‘cheapos’ you can find in the streets. Hunter is one brand that manufactures absolutely marvelous rain boots in the cowboy style.
It is true that brand boots are going to be a little pricey, but to get the maximum kick out of these, you ought to really go for the best. But of course, if your heart sings better with the jingle of coins in your pocket, you may as well as be content with some cool cowboy rain boots that you can manage to get in the market at a low price.

Roman soldiers created and maintained the magnificent Roman Empire for an incredible length of time. This soldier was responsible for keeping Rome out of harms way while spreading Roman ideals to many foreign lands. These soldiers carried with them a fighting sword, protective shield, and a flexible set of armor. This article will teach you how to make your own Roman soldier costume to get a better idea of what it was like to go into battle as a Roman soldier.
Firstly you will want to build a unique set of armor for yourself. The Roman soldier armor you make must be an obvious replica so that all your friends and family members will immediately recognize it. Create a red tunic out of some cloth and find yourself a basic pair of sandals with a sandy color. Then you’ll want to find a metal material to make chain mail out of. This can be done by linking metal with other pieces of metal until you have a full shirt made. Finish off the look by finding yourself a Roman helmet and your clothing will be complete.
Next you’ll need to come up with the Roman soldier’s prefferred weapon of choice. Roman soldiers typically fought with short stabbing swords, javelins, or tridents. Javelins can easily be purchased from a sporting goods store or created using a long piece of wood. You could also make yourself a sword by putting one long piece of wood together with a shorter piece of wood to make the hilt.
Shields were always perfectly round and were smaller than some of the typical medieval shields that knights used to wear when going into battle. The reason for this was because the Roman soldier needed to be able to march long distances on foot and needed to travel using light equipment. You can create this type of shield with the lid of a trash can and some gold paint. Paint the shield gold and affix a handle on the inside so that you can hold the shield at the ready position.
Now that you have your roman armor, your shield, and your sword you can accuretley portray one of the fiercest warriors of all time. Use your costume for parties, theatrical plays, or as a display in your house. Make sure you keep any weapons out of harms way; kids, pets, and weapons do not work well together.
